We provide specialized B2B software-as-a-service (SaaS) utilities, lead dispatch systems, and syndicated marine reporting for independent Australian bait and tackle retailers.
We comply strictly with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), and the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) regarding data collection, transmission, storage, and customer communication.
2. Information We Collect from Tackle Retailers
To verify and operate an independent merchant account on Tackle Connect, we collect:
- Business Identity: Store Trading Name, Business Entity/ABN, Store Physical Address, Serviced Waterways, and Postcode.
- Authorized Contact: Store Owner/Manager Name, Direct Email Address, Store Phone Number, and Mobile Number (for Twilio SMS lead alerts).
- Billing Data: Payment details are processed directly via Stripe. We do not store raw credit card numbers on our servers; only secure Stripe customer IDs and subscription tokens are stored.
- Weekly Report Content: Fish species, hot zones, catch observations, and photos uploaded via the Fishing Report Studio for public syndication.
3. Zero-Party Angler Leads & Direct Dispatch
When recreational anglers submit a quote request on fishingaustralia.com.au or complete the 2026 Angler Census, they provide express zero-party consent to have their request routed to nearby independent tackle stores within their postcode proximity.
As a registered retailer, you receive access to this buyer data (Buyer Name, Contact Email/Phone, Suburb, and Requested Gear Model) solely to submit quotations and fulfill commercial gear requests.
Strict Usage Limitation: Participating retailers agree never to harvest, scrape, export, or add angler contact details to unsolicited bulk marketing lists without separate, express opt-in consent from the angler.
4. Third-Party Infrastructure & Service Providers
Tackle Connect utilizes trusted infrastructure providers strictly to deliver core platform services:
- Stripe Australia: Recurring Founder's Club billing, automated trial transitions, and secure PCI-DSS Level 1 payment processing.
- Twilio: Instant SMS notification of high-priority local gear requests within your registered postcodes.
- Transactional Email Relays: Secure delivery of buyer lead alerts, quote confirmation receipts, and weekly telemetry digests.
5. Data Security & Lead Isolation
We employ industry-standard database encryption, strict row-level session locks (`FOR UPDATE`), and granular authentication tokens to ensure your store data, lead history, and customer communications remain isolated from competing retailers.
6. Account Deletion & Right to Erasure
Retailers may cancel their subscription at any time via the Billing Desk (`billing.php`) or request complete deletion of their store account, historical reports, and contact logs by emailing webmaster@fishingaustralia.com.au. Requests are processed within 48 business hours.
